Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year at West Springfield. I'm excited to be working with you as your physics teacher this year, and I will keep this page up-to-date with everything that we do in class. I am teaching two levels of physics this year, Physics I Standard (Periods 2, 6, and 7) and Physics I Honors (Periods 1 and 3). Each of these courses follow the Virginia Standards of Learning for Physics (SOL) as well as the Fairfax County Physics I Program of Studies (POS). While the core concepts of both classes are the same, we use slightly different notation (for equations) in both classes due to the textbooks. However, you are more than welcome to use the online material for either course if it helps you. Specifically, the Cutnell-Johnson Student Companion Site has a number of interactive modules that can help with understanding some key concepts.
